Hey, Surfer Spud here...it only took me two and half months to update my page but I still have Jared beat by several months! Actually, I've been so busy shreddin' in the drifting snow, I haven't had time to work on all this HTML coding 'n' junk. Speaking of snow, I want to thank everyone who came out to the Tahoe Adventure Film Festival in Alpine Meadows, that was a blast and here are some highlights!
That was awesome, you'll have to check it out next time! Also, LIVE 105 will be partnering with the San Mateo County Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation again this year for some cool beach cleanups so check out the Community Connection page soon for details!
I'm currently listening to The Bravery, The Hives, MGMT, Reverend & The Makers, Sons and Daughters, The Verve (Urban Hymns, what a classic!), The Switches, The Red Button, The Mary Onettes, The Fashion, Bell X1 and Nada Surf, which rules even more than Greg Gory on the Woody Show!
OK, that's all for now...sea you soon and thanks for listening to LIVE 105!

SPUD'S TOP 5 ALBUMS OF 2007
#1 Album: MAPS - We Can Create
Song: It Will Find You
Reminding me of some of my favorite bands of the 90’s like Spiritualized, Chapterhouse and My Bloody Valentine, MAPS, who is basically one man from the UK named James Chapman, delivered a perfect CD that mixes electronica, shoegaze and psychedelic pop into one amazing and hypnotic album. Great live show at Bottom of the Hill too…hoping they’ll return in 2008 so YOU can experience the live sounds of MAPS too!
#2 Album: BLAQK AUDIO - Cex Cells
Song: Stiff Kittens
Davey and Jade from AFI released this dark electronic project that sounds like AFI trying to be Depeche Mode but that’s a winning combination in my book! The album is an awesome aural experience from beginning to end and listening to it in the dark at Expression College in Emeryville at LIVE 105’s Blaqk Audio Listening Party was a very…blaqk experience!
#3 Album: THE BRAVERY - The Sun And The Moon
Song: Time Won’t Let Me Go
Although I really enjoyed their debut release a few years back, The Bravery blew me away this time around with an amazing album that is song-perfect from beginning to end. Plus, their awesome performance at LIVE 105’s private Expression Session showed what talented musicians The Bravery really are.
#4 Album: THE HIVES - The Black And White Album
Song: Tick Tick Boom
The Hives return with another fun album of Swedish garage punk that had me singing along from square one and every song is instantly classic Hives. Plus how can anyone not acknowledge THE coolest dressed band in the universe!
#5 Album: HARD-FI - Once Upon A Time In The West
Song: Suburban Knights
A tremendous track with a tremendous video that might just be my song of the year (Suburban Knights), Hard-Fi return to the scene with an epic album full of Britpop ballads and awe-inspiring arrangements that really should have had COVER ART! Let’s hope we get some live shows from this great live band in 2008!
