 WEDNESDAY: the invasion of NYC hipster side-projects continues as the enigmatic PAUL BANKS of post-punk legends INTERPOL brings his new project JULIAN PLENTI to San Francisco's Great American Music Hall
THURSDAY: Parisian art-punk-electro types KAP BAMBINO make the marathon trek from France this Thursday to play at SF's venerable indie party popscene. (www.popscene-sf.com) Disco Shawn and I will be holding down the DJ megamixing responsibilities and the party kicks off at 10pm.
FRIDAY: yes, true, the Oakland Raiders may currently be sucking ass and getting blacked out on local television as they lose to the even more pathetic Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday on their home turf, but the Raiders are the complete antithesis right now of the flourishing and vibrant local Oakland music scene! come see for yourself this Friday as three radio soundcheck regulars, GOODBYE GADGET, SENTINEL and MALDROID, tear it up at The Uptown on Telegraph.
SATURDAY: mega superstar DJ TIESTO comes to the Cow Palace this Saturday armed with a crate of some of the most powerful trance anthems to ever grace a dancefloor or, uh, fill a stadium! (in support of his excellent new release 'Kaleidoscope')
SUNDAY: the show i'm MOST excited for this week takes place at San Francisco's uber-cool indie hangout Rickshaw Stop as one of the UK's most exciting new acts FANFARLO returns to the Bay Area!! (for fans of Decemberists, Noah And The Whale, Beirut, Arcade Fire) radio soundcheck band of the month for November FREELANCE WHALES (Brooklyn) will make their SF live debut and more support will be provided by San Jose's THE MUMLERS.
