Ask anyone with a tattoo what they think about when they see a tattoo, and it’s usually what their next tattoo is gonna be! No other art form is more personal and obviously lasting than the art of Tattoo. One of the great things about living in the Bay Area is the massive amount of talented artists who call this place home and have opened up shop. I was lucky enough to meet up with Chris from Tattoo Life and Tattoo Energy Magazines (check 'em out here) awhile back and we talked about the need to represent our tattooed community! This page is a result of that meeting and hopefully will be a gateway to expose you to some of the best shops in the area and perhaps lead you to getting the needle to your skin! . . . . . So go get inked and enjoy looking around the page! – No Name

Masks and Monsters: Jack Mosher, Tattoo Artist
by Maurizo de Paola
Jack Mosher’s world is filled with demoniac entities and cruel warriors. For this American artist, Japan is more a metaphysical place than a geographical one, where simple stories combine with strong iconographic features that are simply one of a kind. With a simple and precise outline, Jack Mosher is able to bring on skin complex graphic narrations, taking inspiration from the immense Japanese iconography and transferring it into a series of visionary segments of tattoo art images. His passion for traditional Japanese Hannya masks (which he also dedicated a book to) is just an aspect of a multi-sided admiration for Japanese and Far East art and culture.
When and why did you start tattooing? Who do you consider your masters and guides in this art?
Everthing started by chance. Years ago, I was doing Professional bodyguard work and I was also teaching Karate and Jujitsu at night. At the same time I was doing a lot of design work for a local tattoo shiop and finally the guy said why don’t I just start doing my own work. . . . read more here.
