THE LOVEMAKERS
The Lovemakers started in Oakland when post-rave topped hyphy. In true independent style, the band self-released an album they recorded themselves. Their killer live act met immediate success with Bay Area audiences. The local record stores would be out of their album by the end of the month. With this buzz major labels started sprinkling the audience. After the grueling industry protocol, Interscope Records signed The Lovemakers and released their breakthrough studio album Times of Romance. The follow-up Misery Loves Company is expected this summer and will be even more homegrown as it will be released by San Francisco based Fuzz. |
