2. ALEXISONFIRE
what an incredible song and video from this intense, post-hardcore and cathartic Canadian rock 5-piece on Vagrant Records. spun it on Sunday night and it got a big reaction! (for fans of: Thrice, Deftones, Quicksand, Sunny Day Real Estate, Failure)
3. SURFER BLOOD
Florida indie rock collective that kinda sound like if the Beach Boys had been from Brooklyn instead of sunny southern California. coming to Bottom of the Hill on April 2. (for fans of: Vampire Weekend, The Shins, The Drums, Surf City)
4. ALEX METRIC
up-and-coming UK electronic-electro-breakbeat DJ and producer and the knob turning wizard behind that SICK new Beastie Boys remix of 'sabotage' i've been spinnin' on subsonic. (he's also done remixes for Phoenix!) Alex is on Adam Freeland's 'marine parade' record label and this wicked new tune features Russell from Bloc Party on drums! (for fans of: Freeland, Calvin Harris, Hey Champ, LCD Soundsystem, Dan Black)
5. MARINA AND THE DIAMONDS
this '80s-tinged pop diva from Greece first broke onto the music scene via the blog circuit last year with a handful of cool club tunes and remixes and now she's ready to explode into every Soccer Mom's Astro-van in America with this epic new track! (for fans of: Ting Tings, Florence and The Machine, Gossip, The Go-Go's, Lady Gaga, Amanda Blank)
6. HADOUKEN!
UK nu-rave rockers are like a cocktail of Prodigy and Pendulum and they just dropped a monster of an album called FOR THE MASSES, which is loaded with high-octane and adrenaline filled electronic-rock bangers! (for fans of: Does it Offend You, Yeah?, Infected Mushroom, Prodigy, Crystal Method, Steve Aoki)
