: blah blah blog: aaron's weekly update about stuff & things.
Monday, May 19, 2008

* please put down Friday, June 6 on your calendar as we'll be hosting the second annual PRE-BFD PARTY @ 330 Ritch Street with THE WHIGS (Atlanta), ACTION DESIGN (North Bay/CD release party) and THE HUNDRED DAYS (sf) all performing live. (plus, i'll be djing to boot) doors at 9pm, 21+ please and this event is FREE!! (lots of booze, beer and 3 great bands to kick off your BFD weekend)

* so, when i was back in High School out in lovely Livermore i was making crappy birdhouses in shop class, flunking out of pre-Algebra, dissecting poor dead frogs in Biology AND not organizing local music festivals and learning about the music biz 101 as is the case with some Sophomore's and Junior's from Burlingame High! this Sunday, May 18 down in Burlingame, several students, along with the Youth Advisory Committee, have went ahead and organized quite an impressive music event: the 1st Annual Day On The Green Music Festival, featuring 8 Bay Area bands- Project 13, Element 94, Fighting The Villain, Undergone, All Ages, Company Car, Mud and Chow Nasty.... damn! A bunch of mini "Bill Graham's" in the making here and I'm sure i'll be using these students to help me book future BFD's and NSSN's in the future. (myspace.com/dotg08 for more info)

* excited this weekend to head down down to Weenie Roast in Los Angeles, our sister station KROQ's big summer festival, and i'll be back in time for soundcheck next Sunday @7pm with my special friend Miles the hipster co-hosting the show with me. (and i'll tell y'all how Metallica was @ Weenie Roast)

coming up this Sunday, 5.18, new music to spin from THE CURE, MY MORNING JACKET, WOLF PARADE, FLEET FOXES, THE ROOTS, THE BLACK ANGELS, SCARLETT JOHANSSON and tons more. free tickets for these upcoming shows, too: RANCID @ the warfield on 9.25, LONG BLONDES @ great american music hall on 6.2, FOALS @ popscene on 5.22, CAROLINA LIAR @ slim's on 5.20, LADYTRON @ the sold-out Fillmore on 5.27 and more......

late,
aaron
