And before they made the main stage on their own, they toured with fellow world class rockers like Pennywise and No Doubt. This year's BFD is The Offspring's first Bay Area show since 2005's Warped Tour and we're stoked to have them headlining our main stage! | website

Since their first show (opening for Fugazi in Omaha!) over a decade ago, 311 has come a long way from their Nebraska roots. This 5 piece reggae-punk-funk band has released eight albums, with a ninth studio album, Uplifter, slated to hit the world on June 2nd this year, just in time for BFD!

This New York CIty rock trio is fresh out of the recording studio with their latest release, It's Blitz! in hand. Led by Karen O, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs will hit the main stage at BFD for their first Bay Area show of 2009! Even more Bay Area love: the video for their new song, Zero, was filmed right in the heart of San Francisco! website

This 5 piece rock band hails from Athens, Georgia (that hot Atlanta music scene that also brought us The Whigs, Of Montreal and Deerhunter) with a sound that mashes up alternative country and grunge rock. The guys first gained national attention at 2008's South by Southwest music festival and released their first full length album, "Wrecking Ball," in September. | website

Rebelution

The guys of Rebelution first met at Santa Barbara City College and got their roots rock band together in 2004. Their album, Courage to Grow, was the iTunes editors' choice for best reggae album of 2007. Originally from New Orleans, Grammy Award-nominated Mutemath combines elements of new wave, psychedilia, jazz and ambient vocals into an unforgettable sound. You can rock out with Mutemath at home- their song "Typical" is available on RockBand. The guys are currently working on their second full length album. Glasvegas

GLASVEGAS


Glasvegas is tearing up the Bay Area music scene. This Scottish rock band sold out their popscene and Great American Music Hall shows and are back for more at this year's BFD! Their single "Daddy's Gone" was a hit with NME in 2007. And in 2008, they released a holiday minialbum featuring "A Snowflake Fell (and it felt like a kiss)." You've heard their hit "Geraldine" on Radio Soundcheck. Now get ready to rock out with the guys from Glasgow.

LIVE 105 was the first radio station in America to play Airborne Toxic Event's current breakthrough smash, "Sometime Around Midnight"! This indie rock band from L.A. played their first gig in Echo Park in 2006, and the music quickly took off. "Sometime Around Midnight" was named the #1 alternative song of 2008 on iTunes. The buzz from Soundcheck's Aaron Axelsen is that they were the best live band out of the thousands at the festival!
